Scholarships

In 2025 we are delighted to offer two different scholarships. Applicants need only to complete ONE application to be eligible for consideration for both scholarships described below.

NEW THIS YEAR! The Lucie Orme Whitty Memorial Scholarship ($10,000) will be given to one special candidate pursuing a degree in nursing or a related "healing art." This scholarship has been generously given to honor the life of Lucie Orme Whitty, a nurse by training, and to allow her legacy of kindness, service, resilience and commitment to the well-being of others to live on.

 

The Peaks Island Health Association Scholarship ($2000) will be granted on a competitive basis to deserving Peaks Islanders to offset the cost of pursuing education to work in a healthcare related field. Preference will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in programs directly leading to a health professions certification, licensure or degree including, but not limited to CNA, MA, LPN, RN, NP, physician, physician assistant, physical therapist, occupational therapist, clinical psychologist and social worker.

Deadline for 2025:

Applications and letters of recommendation must be received by June 15th.

How do I submit an application? 

The application for these scholarships can be found via the google form linked below. Note that a letter of recommendation is also required and can be emailed to us separately.

What happens after I submit an application? 

After we receive your application and letter of recommendation, we will contact you to schedule a short interview with members of the PIHA board. If you are awarded a scholarship, it will eventually be sent directly to your school/ program at the start of your second semester.
